About Us

“The Hatcher Boys” is our family bluegrass band consisting of our Dad and his 3 sons.  Michael is “Dad” and plays guitar and sings lead.  Dane is 22 and plays guitar and mandolin. Spencer is 19 and plays the 5-string banjo.  Connor is 16 and plays the upright bass.  All of us alternate between singing lead and harmony.

Our band was formed in the summer of 2013.  We have been performing since then at many events including Virginia, West Virginia, Tennessee and North Carolina.  From busking on Main Street in Nashville to most recently performing as a featured band at the 2016 Cabin Fever Pickin’ Party in Virginia Beach, Our schedule has included the Maggie Valley Opry House in Maggie Valley, North Carolina; the 2014 New Year’s Eve Celebration, also at Maggie Valley; “Shindig-on-the-Green” in Asheville, NC in 2014; and the 2015 Amelia Bluegrass Festival.

We have performed on stage with Ronnie Stoneman of “Hee-Haw”; Raymond Fairchild (five-time world banjo champion and Bluegrass Hall of Fame), and Kody Norris and the Watauga Mountain Boys.  The boys have played with Eddie Adcock (The Country Gentlemen), Sammy Shelor (Lonesome River Band) and other well-known bluegrass musicians.

We have either won or placed in numerous individual instrumental contests and band competitions.

Our home is near Timberville, Virginia.  All of us were born and raised in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia.
